Sometimes the solenoids on the starters can get sticky. give it a light "thump" with a soft mallet or wooden handle and try it again. usually does the trick when they stick!
Well what do you know :o Brand new starter but you were right , a good thump with the copper head hammer , turned the key and away she purred 8) Just goes to show that you can't assume anything , whether new or not
It ran up to temp' and the fan came on in 20 min's / all air expelled at 90 plus , so all is working well with the smaller radiator --- in the shed anyway --- we'll have to see if it keeps at 92 degrees on track :?: That's the optimum efficiency temp' for a zetec but no more . It ran under 92 before with the bigger rad' so hopefully this will be a better match for the engine. Sprints don't last long

Now't to do now till the body arrives in a few weeks :)

It's a good thing '' retirement '' and having lots of time to stand and look at things . Peering into the engine bay and lower chassis area this morning , I noticed that the powder coating , close to the lever of the drivers side ARB , was cracked away with rust showing :? Then it dawned on me , that it took a hell of a twisting motion that it wasn't designed for , when the wheel came loose after snapping the lower rodend in the collision with that tree
Sure enough after taking it off the levers were 1/8 th of an inch apart at the lever ends when laid flat on a steel surface :o
I have 12.7mm bar in stock so have just finished making another ' bar ' , bilthambered and will paint tomorrow then fit :)

If the original body was still intact , I may never have seen the cracked powder coat in the darkened under bonnet . It would have handled a bit scary with pre-tension going into a fast corner --- :o not a great way to find a fault

Apparently Mr Duffee has been off rallying in Ireland :o but is back now ---- sooo  Tim tells me it should be next week for my half body :) Hopefully he's right

Spose if I'd bought a Darrion T90 from Duffee , he'd attend to my needs first wouldn't he
