Just occurred to me that if your car was on the stand , it would be an ideal FOR SALE pitch if it had a spec sheet , build etc on the screen for interested parties to browse ----- especially after watching ' them ' fly up the hill :?:

I've welded up some hinge joints to make a new leg for my BROKEN eaz-up OR rather both broken eaz-ups  It was just not possible to buy tube as thin a gauge as the original legs , which meant I couldn't use the slide mechanisms either , hence the welding job ---- anyway , both of them function ok , so will bring one to Prescott :) Might be handy if it's hot or even if it rains  ----------- not that it will :P

stylussprinter wrote:OK Guys --- I'm just back after the weekend away and there's a nice little email from the organiser saying a stand for 10 cars is now booked :P Woohay :D Further more , it turns out he is a long term fan of the STYLUS  and they've always been on his '' I want one '' list.
Nice that two more have committed (Matt & Craig) ----------------------- but Craig , it's 19th of AUGUST not July mate :!:
I will get tickets for , wait for it , a :!: PADDOCK :!: stand because he likes the cars and thinks we'll likely be going up the hill a lot  --- they will be sent to me about a month before so I'll have to post them out to you.
If more commit than 10 , I'll ask for more spaces if it's not too late

So far then it's -----
Me CONFIRMED --- PASS received
Dave Huggett CONFIRMED--- Passes x 2 posted(STYLUS/TIGER)
Sevensport/Alex CONFIRMED --- PASS x 2 posted (STYLUS/tintop)

Matt D NOT READY - ENGINE SWAP -- PASS delivered
Ken V8 (Matt's unc) CONFIRMED --PASS delivered
Chris H -- hopefully :?: :?:
Kev & Liz :?: :?: No engine running as of 9th Aug Liz is obviously very fast in 2nd
Norma In vx220 CONFIRMED -- PASS posted
CMA CONFIRMED --PASS posted
Ian Stiles ---- Caterham PASS delivered by hand
GLYN WEBSTER ---- just bought Jeff Bond's V8 :!: Have asked him so maybe :?: :?:

OK Guys -- this is the stand list so far :D so on this basis , seeing as it's 6 weeks off the 19th August yet , I'll get in touch with the organisers again and ask for a 15 car stand . Even if you only park with us trying the hillclimb , it's better than leaving your 'beloved Stylus' far away in the car park :!:
and I've contacted Tim B , hoping he's not committed elsewhere to help keep the Stylus marque interesting by him flying up the hill :P
Any more for the stand and hillclimb :?: :?:

I am going to order a lightweight windproof/showerproof jacket for myself in BLACK plus the same logo as our caps embroidered on the left chest area. This is a one off just for me at £25 ish plus the post/pack , seeing as the logo is already on their files. Price is an estimate at the moment so if you fancy one too , give me a shout

AS of today we only have 6 STYLUS's on the stand . I have posted/delivered 10 passes and PRESCOTT have actually sent me extra passes obviously expecting a big show of STYLUS's after looking at our forum.
I still have 9 more passes ------------------------- are there no other interested Stylus owners for the stand :?:

Rob, might it be worth sending possible interested parties a PM on here (or direct email if you have them) that way if they don't check the forum regular they will get an email saying they have a PM and might come and look and then come along?

Rob , you have no idea how many PM's , emails and texts also some phone calls I've made since thinking of organising this Club day ---- in fact most days I am conjuring up ways to jog and encourage owners to support it . My own fault I suppose for assuming everybody is just waiting for another club stylus day out , meeting or trackday but if nobody does it then the marque will just be forgotten --- it's 5 years since I did the LLANDOW club day which was attended by COMPLETE KIT CAR plus article and have just had a couple of meetings at my home with food/beer etc since then.
LLANDOW got 16 cars out but not without chasing and generally being a pain  First home meeting got about 6 cars from memory , the next just 3/4 cars .
I think that one of the problems is that many Stylus's are virtually being built as a hobby , taking 3 to 10 years plus some already built are in repairs or being upgraded --- all these things have been mentioned when making contact. Also personal problems , health etc.
I don't actually believe the supposed total of Stylus's sold either --- apparently 160 -- ish :?: More like 80 to 100 with probably only half those ever completed :?:
There are owners on the member list that I've PM'd as and when they sign up on this forum but never hear from ---- it seems to be a minority who want to join anything or meet up with others :o
Having said that ---- I'm retired without the pressures of work etc and still love competing so have little else to occupy me
Winge over

I'm not going to make Prescott I'm afraid; not that I don't want to as it looks like it'll be awesome but this summer is a nightmare in terms of living in one place, working in another and renovating a house somewhere else entirely which doesn't leave many weekends free for messing about in cars!
