Has anyone ever managed to put the advised 1.9lts of oil in their Type 9 box . I'm just replacing mine but last time I got just 1.4lts in there

I've never measured how much I've put in! Just filled until overflowing.

Yep , me too but thought I'd ask seeing as all info says 1.9lts . Mine overflows well before that.

Mine's out of a Capri so the input shaft was different but the capacity must be the same , certainly looks no different to other Type 9's I've seen . I remember thinking at the time I built the car ---- how the hell do you get 1.9lts in it . Mine's leaking from the front seal as of yesterday and the box was reconditioned and modified in 2006 --- around 1500 track miles only. I wish I'd put a breather in the top case lid before installing it , as I think it's excess pressure rather than a duff seal .
Can't drill it now though , filings dropping into the case etc . I might just take the tunnel cover off and tap a sharpened punch through the lid --- dry it up then sikaflex a 50mm's rubber pipe over it . It might blow some out but at least stop any pressure
Any comments guys
