[SSC V8]

Hi all,

I just signed up on the forum. I am French and I purchased car RTV8. I made ​​the documents for registration in France's car. I need to document the address of the factory with the total weight with maximun passenger. If you have a document with the SSC specification V8, it helps me a lot if you can send me.

Tim (SSC Factory) is no longer in business running SSC. He still owns it but is envolved in other business now. The chance of finding an SSC badge/logo is not good -- sorry David The fully loaded axle weight is 950 kgs from memory but someone who still has their original SVA pass should have it written down on a document --- it was a requirement .

Likelihood of getting an SSC logo sticker from the factory is very low - But I can photograph one & post on here if you want to copy & get it made in France.
The later oval badges will be quite hard to copy, but the earlier SSC triangle is quite simple & easily drawn in CAD.

The design weights are stated as 500kgs front axle, 500kgs rear axle. I have these in my "build manual", which is very short & undetailed really.
I can scan & post this if it helps. In reality the car weighs nowhere near this, its just the parameters that the car & chassis is designed around.
We have a V8 Stylus in the family too which went through UK IVA registration in summer 2011.
I can get the final weight details of the MAC (ministry) certificate if that helps too.

I think you are probably looking for an official SSC factory statement for the weights of a V8 powered, RT bodied Stylus. This will be very difficult as the V8 fitment was never offically approved or supplied by Tim at Stylus Sports Cars. V8 chassis were built as specials before Tim owned the company - it was Peter Powell and Specialist Sports Cars then. At a guess less than 10 V8 Stylus chassis were ever made.
If your car was mid-build, Tim may have supplied the bodywork &/or the RT body conversion kit, but that will be the limit of his involvement.
So the "official paperwork" you seek will be dated 2003 or earlier (if it exists).
We didnt have this information for our V8 registration, and fortunately didnt need it.

An alternative idea may be to contact Jeremy Phillips, the designer of the Stylus, at Sylva Autokits - sylva.co.uk
Jeremy is a nice guy who may be prepared to issue you some official Sylva paperwork for your registration process.
