I had a text from 'Tim' today , from wherever in the world he is at present. I hope to see him at some point in 2012 , possibly at a Goodwood event so's he can blitze my PB time there :P
Four years out of his car is a long time but I have no doubts he'll blow me away on past experience  I'd like to see him competing again and surprising the regulars :P
I'll post up here if any definite event is booked -------- then you'll see how quick he always was if you come along

Did you ever catch up with him?
In any case, what is the latest situation on Bodyshells and chassis etc? - who has the moulds/jigs?

I've always kept contact with Tim since him closing for business and have said on this forum a good few years ago that Tim holds the rights/moulds/jigs to SSC . Tim Duffee actually has the moulds physically in his premises(he's the Darrion cars manufacturer who built shells to order for Tim)
He wont and can't make shells unless the order comes from Tim , so contacting him for that purpose is a no no :!: When I contact Tim , sometimes I get an immediate reply but mostly it's weeks or months after my text that he gets in touch. He has another life now and travelling is a large part of it. No sooner is he finished in say , France , he's then trailering the car to another venue for the next event --- hence he couldn't make PRESCOTT , as it says on my post he was due to be at CASTLE COMBE the day before , then load and service the vehicle ready for trailering up to Scotland when we were at Prescott

What's your immediate need then regarding the Stylus :?:

Thanks. I don't have a specific need for a shell, but it's nice to know the moulds at least still exist - just in case.
How about the jigs for chassis etc? Who has those?

Do you know if anyone has ever offered to buy Tim out?

Does Tim Duffee have the chassis jigs? If not Who?

What the forum could benfit from is a search function. Would you care to point me at the right 4 year old post?

Can't tell you off hand ---- there were questions similar to yours from many directions at the time of Tim's health/personal prob's/lack of sales etc around 2006/7 which I answered at the time . Your question re - jig's is in my post answering your post spegru .
If you look at the header in this forum the search facility is just to the left of the ' members ' list .

Maybe I'm too pedantic but your post above only mentions moulds.

I think the point is that all parts for a Stylus rolling chassis are still available.

Body / GRP - Davrian have the moulds, but will only manufacture for Tim.

Chassis & Suspension - All new jigs made & kept by Tim,
Tim has the welder & made his own metalwork to ensure quality, no third party involved.

You just need to be patient in making contact with Tim, or go via someone who can.

However - since 2006 various club members have remanufactured various jigs & parts, so there are some non-factory parts available, plus plenty of info on every other aspect of the car.

The rest of it is all Ford or aftermarket replacement/upgrade.

Rob / Stylusprinter has by far the best practical knowledge of what's what in improving the spec/setup.

It says that Tim has all rights moulds/jigs etc BUT that Duffee has the moulds ----- no mention of jigs because he only has the moulds you see
