TWMC EVENT

TWMC Tonhire Sprint 16th June will be my next event . Hopefully I can get more than just practice laps in this one
I've put my order in for sunny weather too
This event will show just what Simon Boulter and 270bhp in a Striker can do
, quite a lot I suspect
He didn't get to show the potential last time , in the rain --- although was actually quicker than Jeff 's '' crazy bhp '' supercharged Phoenix . It was so rediculously wet/running water around the track that most were being VERYcareful
Only problem with Goodwood events now is their entry fees ---- April's sprint was £110 not too bad but this TWMC sprint is £140
and I note that September's BRANDS HATCH event is £160
Gurston used to be £60 and this year's was £100 --- it makes motorsport out of reach for a full championship once you're retired . If you did 12 events plus travelling fuel , track fuel , even without B&B for the long distance venues , that'd be well over £2000 and some guys do more than 15 events.
Golf is soooo boring though

A really good day without any sign of rain
The radical got moved to another class which was great . I did my best time since 2004/5 at 93.43sec's (last years best 96.08sec's) but Simon in his supercharged Striker did 91.44sec's
---- however I did beat the Escort again so ended up 2nd in class and very happy with that bearing in mind the improvement
I failed scrutes on a worn belt to start with but Nigel in the escort had a contact 3 miles away who had several sets of used belts ---- very nice of him to sort me out or I'd have spent £60 getting there and back plus £140 entry for now't
Especially good of him considering I was then rude enough to beat him into 3rd place
Forgot to add I was 10th overall

This time I had a camera on board , a first for me . It's a DRIFT HD720 with a remote trigger facility that all my family gave me for my birthday
. I had no time to make a good rollbar mount for it , so fixed it onto the dashboard using the supplied clip and very sticky instant grab double sided tape. I've now made a permanent mount on the diagonal across the rollbar for the next time.
If you're wondering how the sticky gripper got through ''scrutes'' , well the camera wasn't there when scrutinised , hence once clipped in just before being called up to the startline nobody knew any different then Stuart set it off using the remote. Didn't get it quite right the first run but once he checked it back after that run , it was really good for the next run.
Can't put it up on here though yet because I haven't figured out how , although we have watched it by putting the card into my wife's laptop ---- my PC doesn't have a slot for cards

Was just working out the little Striker's bhp per tonne --- I forgot just how light it is at 520kgs , apparently a special lightweight race spec and set-up at PROCOMP racing. Anyway it's 519bhp per tonne , the space frame Escort at 448bhp per tonne then mine at 385bhp per tonne .
So probably as good a result as I could reasonably expect really but it's still nice to win if at all possible
I had contact with Tim a few days ago (long time since last got through) and he pulled the sheets of his RT and started her up , thinking about some track time in 2012 ---- found a fuel leak so now intends a '' restoration ''
. Well , it is at least 2006/7 since it was run

I had a good look around on ebay and other sources for a new harness , so's to get through scrutineering next time out ok. Cheapest from most places was £130 or just a tad more , ebay was bonkers , where people were bidding up to £145 for quite low spec harnesses.
Finally I contacted Mcgill motorsport where I've bought things before and they now stock very high spec harnesses dated to 2017 at £95 . I actually needed different spec eye bolts than was supplied as standard but he offered them at the same price including delivery/vat at £100
So I will now have a 6 point 3 inch straps harness with aircraft quick release buckle , including eye bolts , in RED of course. They are made by STR and are tested to the latest FIA and American standard plus dated --- which our club sport doesn't actually require , so very pleased at that price

You just copy whats in the address bar (the bit at the top that says www.youtube.........etc) when you have your video up and then paste that into a new message, no need to attach a file, then once you submit your new message the forum automatically recognises it as a link to a website and changes its colour and underlines it.
