Sylva marques at N Weald sprint

I went to N Weald yesterday to watch 3 Sylva's compete , all in different classes . Two with my ARB . Lee Champion in his bike engined Phoenix and his first ever sprint in it , won his class at 87 odd sec's , almost identical to Jeff Wiltshire , in his super charged 2lt Blacktop/310bhp Phoenix at 87 odd sec's , coming 3rd in his class.(both run my ARB with set-up details)
Simon Boulter in his 1600 4age super charged 280bhp won his class too but his was set up by PROCOMP .
Simon actually picked me up on his way to the sprint , saving my diesel which was very nice :) I needed to take spares to repair Lee's ARB before the event because it was fitted but with too long link arms(not cut to clear the chassis on turn in and braking)so he'd snapped a rodend giving it a thrashing while road testing it  Could have posted the bits but then he'd not have time to fit them before the event
Another nice dry day plus an opportunity to chat more and look around at others cars etc.

ROLL on Thursday --- Goodwood Revival cars testing :P

I did tell him what to adjust regarding the new found understeer but he's likely forgotten . Once you're faster with an ARB over a given course then corner approach is at a higher speed , therefore understeer is the result unless you change the set-up to suit and the driving
Lee overcomes these snags but not by adjustments --- he's a natural who has no fear and good to watch :)
Once the car is set-up properly he'll be a force to be reckoned with  A visit at mine is on the cards at some point.
Jeff's car is awesome , power delivery wise it just moves depending where the throttle is put --- like a switch  Big circuit plus hot day and it will blow all away , especially if the difuser is developed to the correct angle. He was baffled at Goodwood being slower than me when last year he was quicker using less power ---- then I said you can't change the power and under tray BUT you could take that defuser off ---- what can you lose :?: Off it came then he promptly put in a 90 sec's approx run , beating me again
