New member introduction, and Stylus door size question

Hi Chaps,
I've been lurking for a few weeks so time for an introduction and a fairly simple question.
From a background of Westfields, a 1.8K Fury, GTM Libra, and various others, I've decided to see if I can find a Stylus to fill the empty garage. I test drove Peter Powell's Zetec something like 12 years ago. At the time I had a Westfield as a daily driver, so my memory tells me it was very civilised.
Since then I had a Fury and enjoyed it, but couldn't quite get on with the size of the doors when I had the weather gear fitted. I had a removable steering wheel which helped, but it was still a gymnastic 9.8/9.6/9.7/9.9 effort.
I've read various accounts that the Stylus doors are meant to be marginally larger than the Fury's, and that the whole car is marginally more comfortable. Is there any substance behind this? I think my suspicion stems from the fact that they're virtually on the same chassis, so there's limited scope to steal an extra inch of space?
Cheers
Gary
