Just passed my sva test. 1st time! No problems at all apart from the gear knob which I modified while I was there and I needed to warm the brakes up for the brake testing. Apart from that everything was fine!!

The DVLA Local office F**ked me about a bit though. I took my MAC certificate there staight after the test to get it registered and they said that the car needed to be inspected but they didn't do it on mondays so i'd have to bring the car back. then they told me i couldn't drive the car back and it would either have to be trailered there or i'd have to wait 6 weeks for someone to come to my house by appointment.

As i have no car able to tow a trailer or a trailer to tow with a car, niether can i wait 6 weeks for someone who knows nothing about cars to come look, i've decided to book an mot at the garage thats closest to the DVLA office.

That way i can drive it there, then cancel the mot. i'll be insured that way!!

Oh the loopholes of the law!!

:D

Cheers

Alec

Congratulations with the pass. I'm still far far away from that point.

Looks like I'll have to update the website then. Do you have a bit of info and some pictures so I can put you up there with the rest?

SVA pass !

Well done Alec , not too bad really is it ? The DVLA are a pain though , they said I could drive mine to the inspectors agreed site for which I waited 3 weeks. If they would have done yours pronto , I could have trailered it for you

You ARE allowed to drive the car to the DVLA for registeration as long as you are insurance on the chassis no.

I know, I had to show the Police all documentation (goverment legislation etc) after being stoped by a cocky copper for not having number plates.

Alec , once you have pic's and build info it will be best to send it all to Werner or at least email him to see if that's the way to do it. In theory I could move it if put on here but best go to the right place straight off.

Great that you're rolling now !!!!!!!! :D :D :D
