Brighton and Hove 's Goodwood sprint is on the 3rd August and I'm entered again this year . Hopefully I can drive quick enough by then to do some good . I've had steroids in my left shoulder , four physio sessions plus two sessions of acupuncture . Once off the line and through the 'box' , hopefully it'll not be too paifull .
We'll just have to see on the day , I'm definitely not cancelling my entry . I had planned to remove the steering arms that I modified back in 2005 to replace them with standard ones but re-modified for anti-bump as before ----- however , this time around 10mm's longer for lighter steering effort.
A friend was doing it for me due to the shoulder issue but they're not done
----- if you want something doing aye
I'll be more than delighted if the Radical's not in my class again though

My friend (Dennis Silman - SILTECH RACING) has just posted the steering arms back to me but only ' tacked ' in position in case the angles of arm and ' drop down ' aren't as I wanted . I've checked them on an upright and the anti-bump drop and distance to the disc is spot on. The arms are now 20mm's longer including the ' drop ' , so the steering effort will be lighter --- rather easier on the shoulder.
I originally had no drop down on the standard RACELEDA spec arms , so bumpsteer was possible depending on spring rates . With my 2.4 rack the drop down plus closer to the disc arm , made the steering very close to 1.7 turns lock to lock [ the gold item ]--- great for high speed correction/reaction but tricky now my own body geometry isn't it's original spec
I'll weld these up at the weekend then hopefully fit and adjust toe , in time for the 3rd August

Wait till you see the Sports Libre list of entries Stu
2 ESCORT BHP
2 GT40's BHP 6OO
2 LOTUS BUICK BHP
1 CORTINA 5.7 V8 BHP 500
1 SPORTS 2000 Duratec BHP
Jeff Wiltshire's Supercharged SYLVA Phoenix BHP @ WHEELS 300 (driven this at Abbeville & it's bloody quick)
Plus me at 231bhp ----- I've beaten the main GT40 driver but he's done my lap times early this year at Goodwood , so I'll struggle to beat him in these hot tarmac conditions.
Also beaten the grunty Cortina 5.7 last season . Hopefully I may beat the two Escorts ------- but there's no chance I'll beat Jeff or the two LOTUS BUICK's and the Sports 2000 .
That probably puts me 6th in class if I perform as hoped
Ah well --- you can't win em all

Well , a bit disappointed not to have put in my best 2012 lap time of 93.39 sec's but did get just below my TWMC 2013 time of 94.56 sec's at 94.18 sec's . Wasn't enough to come near any honours but managed to come 4th from 10
(one Escort didn't arrive
)
The really quick driver/car was the SPORTS 2000 Duratec racer at 87.
sec's then Jeff's PHOENIX 2nd at 89.
sec's , Glen Mason's GT40 3rd at 91.
sec's -------------------------- amazingly I managed to beat the rest ---- CORTINA V8 , ESCORT Formula 2 chassis COSWORTH , Both LOTUS BUICK drivers , 2nd GT40 driver.
The SPORTS 2000 driver surprised me with his stunning time even allowing for the car spec --- he was an enormous guy --- very nearly as wide as he was tall
I reckon around 20 plus stone
Having said that he apparently used to circuit race Formula 3 cars when younger
STILL GOT STEERING WHEEL WOBBLE under very hard breaking The new steering arms did the trick regarding me being able to drive fairly quickly without too much pain
