Having had the equivalent of a ' rodend ' put into my left hip in 2000 , I had another in the right side last Tuesday. Now eight days later I've been home from Edgebaston BMI since last Friday . If last time's anything to go by I should be driving the road car by the end of July THEN hopefully back on track by the middle of August ------- well possibly not competing but at least able to operate everything quick enough.
If human rodends interest you then google The McMinn Centre in Birmingham and see what this brilliant man has done for me.
It's not a hip replacement -- with that your femur is cut right off --- it's called a resurfacing and does just that. Replaces the joint's surface with a secret(obviously)three metal mix of cobalt , carbon and chrome. Other's have tried to copy his method/design but failed. My first hip has lasted 15 yrs and still going without issues after very heavy landscaping work before I retired. This design gives way more mobility and joint angle than the standard OP plus outlasts the THR --- great for hopping in and out of your Stylus !!!
Not really car related but getting bored !

Thanks for those thoughts Schrodinger , I've been excersizing for two hours a day(all listed movements designed to cause PAIN !!) and four days since leaving hosp' have walked 300 yds a day --- but today extended that to 450 yds. Supposed to be able to walk a mile by 6 wks after op ! Should do that easy if not more.
