Fitting new seats

I'm seriously thinking of changing the arse numbing seats in the car for a set of jk high backs ( the thinking being that they can't be worse)
While having a general nose around the bottom of the car it became obvious that there wasn't any bolts showing ( the ones for holding the seat down), can any of you fine chaps tell me where they are?
I also noticed that the floor seems to be double skinned as its over an inch thick, is this normal?

No. If you remove the underneath panel it should reveal the bolts/fixings for the seats.
Does the floor underneath cover the whole car - making a flat bottom?

Sounds like someone's put an undertray on underneath the tub... weird! They should just bolt to the floor of the tub which is single skinned.
I just switched from foam padded cobras to GRP shells and there's little difference in comfort as the new seats fit snugly and are reclined so my weight is evenly distributed. I even sent the foam pads for them back unopened, though I may custom make some lumbar support in due course. The biggest improvement over the years was made by switching to softer springs which also improved the handling no end (now running 225lb front, 180lb rear)

Yes but Alec was 6ft 5in and weighed well over 20 st , so needed very high lbs rated springs

It had covers over the seat bolt area, these have now been removed, that's for the replies and help.
