What sort of power will an English axle with standard drive half shafts take in a light car like a stylus? I’m saving my pennies for a Quaife diff but half shafts are a lot more money so does anyone have any recommendations for cheaper upgrades if needed?

I'm pretty sure you can run just over 200 brake through the standard setup, someone else will be along to confirm or denigh.

I've run a standard English with ATB for a few years without drama shuving 200bhp through and Tim SSC too but with 225bhp. The key factor is TORQUE though. Mine's about 168 ft/lbs , Tim's could be around 180ft/lbs . Any higher and you'd be thinking of some Quaife shafts at £105 a peice . Alternatively a BABY Atlas but they're bloody heavy . I'm planning to have 250bhp at some point so we'll see what happens , that will mean about 190ft/lbs.
