sequential boxes

Does anyone have personal experience of either QUAIFE or ELITE sequential boxes ? Elite are almost half the cost of a Quaife and are built by a company using ex - F1 guys so should be good build quality. BUT ! --- SBD suffered failures on track several times last season using ELITE for their 1700cc Corsa 260 bhp sprint car. The last sprint of the season at LYDDEN Oct. 2005 , it seemed to hang together after the 3rd rebuild , presumably with some mod's. If they get it sorted it looks a fantastic spec' . I.E. 5 or 6 speed plus cassette rear removal of cogs and all alloy , dog or syncro , at around £3000 . It can also have paddle shift fitted .
Could be worth more time on track than more power !!! especially when a Quaife is £6000.
Only dreaming , Rob.

Hi Rob,
I guess you don't run a 270bhp engine and that your car is lighter then a corsa. So I think for a Stylus it should give no problems.
Yet I don't have experience with sequencial gearboxes.
Werner
corsa ?

No , it wasn't a Corsa car , just a highly developed corsa engine taken out to 1700cc non turbo and put into an SBD developed Westfield chassis weighing under 400kgs with SBD mounting points for NITRON built to spec' coilovers . Really an all singing and dancing peice of kit !
Apart from the unreliable ELITE box , that is ! It got rebuilt 3 times after 3 failed sprint meetings , only getting one run before the box 'cracked up' !
Rob.

Hi All
Rob when you decide to part with the hard earned for the sequential upgrade, I'll have to make an offer for what's coming out !
Having some fun getting the injection gear setup, but made some decent progress over Easter.
First bit of spare time I've had for ages !
All the best
