VEMS officially rocks!
Building the loom was straight forward, but time consuming (getting it neat was worth it). Once I had done that it was up and running within a few hours, building the ignition map was also pretty easy as I knew the main point and could plot from that, currently it's retarded by a few degrees through out until I get the Knock sensor fully calibrated, then it's either off to a rolling road or DIY by going out for a drive, log the results and come back and analyse (or adjust on route with a passenger)
I'll be switching over to injection shortly and due to the inbuilt wideband lambda controller I should be able to get it to build it’s own VE table very quickly.
The forum is also very friendly with lots of help for early teething problems.
I highly recommend it.

I think we will be seeing a lot more of those in the future.
So it doesn't only look better then a MS but also does the job better then a MS. (MS ingnition without the EDIS doesn't seem to be reliable)

It makes MS and most other ECU's look outdated, when you compare the features nothing else under a £1000 comes even close.
I'm looking forward to getting the injection up and running as I'm going to 8 sequential injectors (two per cylinder), the progression will make it a very smooth drive while still flowing vast quantities of fuel when needed.
Big thanks for pointing me in the direction of VEMS, I missed them on my first sweep of the ECU market.

But for me it was also just recently that I discovered it, currently there's only 1 fellah on locostbuilders using it, though his car is not finished yet.
But it's there when I found out about it.
In my opinion, this is the only real alternative to a aftermarket ECU like omex etc...
As the MS may be good for injection only and the megajolt for ignition, the MS running both is just a gathering of boxes and bits like the EDIS
Think the VEMS is also more compact and tidier
At least now I know what the route to follow is. What TBs are you going to use and do you run a 1.8 or 2.0 zetec?

Agriv8 is the guy on locostbuilders using VEMS, its now on the road powering a rover v8, he's also a big fan.
I'm running a 2 litre pinto with race head and cam, i've got two sets of GSXR TB's, one are from a K4 750 (4 injector) and from a K6 1000 (8 injector). Both are the same bodies, with the same bore (all but with another injector rail), I'm going to use the 750 ones to get it started on injection using batch firing (basically to test the sysytem) and then swap it over to fully sequential 8 injectors.
