Fuel Filler Hole

We cut the hole in the inner body at the weekend for the fuel filler neck on the tank to poke through! as it is at an angle, we had to cut the hole bigger so it would all clear. Only problem now is that there is a bigish gap around the neck, enough for water to come through. What have you guys used to seal this off if you have had a similar problem.
Cheers

Just use F/Glass for the big gaps then SIKAFLEX for the small. OR -- cut a rough shape out to fit around it -- cut in half then Sikaflex that.

will look at that. Just a bit worried if we need to get the tank out for any reason. That sickaflex is tuff stuff!

Yes the Sikaflex is tuff but it's only like stiff rubber when dry so can be cut with a stanley. If I were you I'd paint the tank with anti-rust especially in the seam where the join is then hammerite it a couple of coats. Unless it's alloy.
Rob.(I've been using BILTHAMBER Hydrate 80 - brilliant job)

i'm in the process of making some aluminium panels to fit around my filler pipe. its a bit of a pain because of the complex shape but i've got 2 halves with a step in one and i shall fix them on with silicone or sicaflex.
