Just bought from e-bay, a 2.0 mondeo (p reg/96) with less than 60k but with a broken auto box for a hundred quid!! :D Great, I thought, but then somebody has planted the seed of doubt about the crank being different and therefore not being any use for rwd conversion :( !! I was going to change to a lighter steel flywheel anyway (not a lightened cast one  ), thats not a problem unless the bolting pcd is different. Does anybody know if the cranks are the same for auto and manual?, anybody been here before? :?
Thanks in advance
Pete..

Pete , my first engine was from an auto' . Cranks are the same so simply put a flywheel and spigot bearing on plus change the water pump to a 1.8lt zetec pump and put in the manual crank sensor ------------ that's it mate. Matt Downes is actually running that engine of mine on TB's now.

There should be no problem, you will need a flywheel and a crank position sensor housing (different depth) from a manual engine though, they are the only differences.
