Solid or metallic - and prices - opinions wanted....

So the car will be in three nice thick coats of primer by the end of next week. Question is - solid colour or metallic?
And what are people experience of spraying costs? My guy is going to price up both options for me - he has to out source the metallic though....
It's going to be either red with white stripes in solid, or the pale Ford Electric Orange metallic - the colour on the new Focus ST.
And apart from the obvious harder and more expensive to do any repair work on metallic - any other reason I shouldn't have it?
Cheers

When i spray mine which will be next year i'm going for a pearl colour, metalic or pearl will cost more to repair if you damage it, Rage do some very nice effects, linky thing

my personal choice of the two you have chosen would be the ford colour or arancio pearl (think thats spelt right) another link not a very good picture of the colour though

its your choice though.

I got mine rubbed down and sprayed for £850 in solid blue, I know the guy so got a bargain.
my personal preference is for solid colours rather than metallics, especially on the classic, but as with all thinks: each to their own

Just to put the cat amongst, i think spectra flair silver would look absolutley stunning on a stylus.
