thought we better have a dedicated place to talk about our glorious sunny day at Llandow!

sorry to the people whose cars were playing up. hope you still had a good day anyway and took some good info away with you! i know i did!

cheers for all the help from the fast guy's there too for helping me improve my driving during the day!

hopefully we can have another event like this just for stylus people sometime in the future. its good to see a group of people all with the same interests and willing to help each other out with problems they may be having, and also to see other peoples cars and the different ways that people have overcome problems!

maybe next time we will see a few more people there too! driving or not!

cheers for a good day guys and girls! hope to meet up again soon!

Yes it was a great day. I was pretty apprehensive at first, since it was my first trackday. Worried that the car might play up, or that I might crash, neither of which happened!

The best bit was because the number of cars on the track was limited, it felt that you had the entire track to yourself at times. I think I did four laps one after the other without even seeing another car. This was great for the learners because you never felt hassled to go faster, or felt you were holding someone up.

Thanks again to Rob for organising it all.

Jeff

As a spectator I had a good morning watching and meeting everyone. The only problem I had was wishing my car was finished and there  . Lets hope it can happen again as there was lots of good advice and hints being passed on.

Cheers George

ps Rob did you get your brakes sorted out?

pps Phil looking forward to the cars reincarnation

Thanyou all for being persuaded to come . What happened was exactly what I'd hoped would happen :?: ------------- you'd all drive behond what you thought your ability was , apart from the guys who'd obviously had experience of one sort or another. I just have to mention Brian in particular who was absolutely adamant the night before that he was simply here for the lovely drive down plus meeting everybody and absolutely no way was he intending to drive any quicker than he always does on the road ----------- h'mmmm ------ well you all saw how long that lasted  Every session he was first with his helmet on , ran his lovely car ragged , which was built as a road every day cruiser and on occasions shared my parking space in the oh sh --- t lane
Everybody appeared to be getting a buzz from the day and I thank the weather god for not shi ---- ing on us
Thanks to Tim too for doing the grubby work stripping out my red hot pads looking for the cause  Finally deciding that actually I had fitted the left side joint of the bias bar too close to the centre pivot. It did move and come back when pedalled but Tim thought not quick enough. Just one thread proved his point ---------- sorted  Bloody clever these people who live up in the hills

So very pleased you all had fun :D Rob.(including me 8) )

Thanks Rob.

I had a great day. Was over the moon that I managed to string a few laps together, even if th car was popping & banging all the way round.

The wife (Liz) enjoyed herself so much she wouldnt quit till the chequered flag finished the day!!!

I have got so much more enthusiasm to get the car sorted.

Cheers kevin

I just loved it.

It was great to see how everyone enjoyed it. This was a great motivation to get the car finished. I wan't to be driving myself next time 8)

Thanks to Rob for sharing the room. I'll be putting the pictures online during the day. Anyone having more pictures of interest, feel free to email them to me. I already saved the pictures that are on here already.

And thanks to Matt for the ride of my life, never been into a kitcar before except for my own (not very representative :p )
Shame though that your fuel pump gave up.

Can't wait till next event. :D

Hi All

Hope we all made it home safely.
Good to see everyone, especially those that travelled some distance to be there.

Phil >> Did the AA sort you out or did the Peugeot tow it all the way to Bristol ??

Thanks to Rob for organising a great day out. I know I enjoyed it.
First time I'd really spanked her like that since building.

Shame the fuel pump packed up, another trip to the scrappy then.
The one that broke was Rover SD1 V8, but I think Astra/Cavalier rings a bell.
Anyone know other donor's for inline bosch high pressure pumps ?

Here's a link to my photo's of the day.

If you want the full fat copy of any that interest you, send me a PM with the frame ref. They're 3MB ea (3000x2000 res)

Cheers

Matt

Hi chaps,

I've uploaded the best of my photos of the day here:

http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/JeffAndDom/070816Llandow

Apologies because most of them seem to be of my car, but wifey was working the camera! If anyone want a full size (10Mpix) image, just send me the filename.

I am sorry I couldn't make it but would only have been as an observer but I'm sure that if you get another day organised I will be there.
It sounds as if most of you had a good day and some good weather, did Adam Wilkins get there as he did tell me he was going along?

journo ?

Yes , Adam came , took various photos and talked with people. Also took the SSC RT out on track for a test and seemed to revel in it :D

Many thanks for the introduction . Rob.

i spoke to adam wilkins on the day!

he said that he had enjoyed his day and everyone he spoke to was very friendly. he said he enjoyed his time in the car on the track and that it was well balanced.

the article will be in 'complete kit car magazine' coming out on 21st of september for anyone who is interested!
