Hi all I am new to this and could do wih some help please? I am looking for information relating to the car pictured, does anyone know who built it? I belive that the owner / builder lived in the Derbyshire area but that about all I know. The car is now in my ownership and I am trying to trace some history.........

Your comments relating to Tim at SSC make me smile :) I have tried to call him on numerous occasions for the last week with no success....what's the secret? http://upload8.postimage.org/239314/photo_hosting.html

Thanks[/img]

Hi Phil,

Thanks for your response and kind comments ..it is a little bit different and yes the car is still running complete with the big bonnet hidding a fuel injected rover V8! Purrrs like a kitten!

Just in the process of carrying out some minor work and want to paint some stone chips out without a full repaint but I have no idea what the colour code is...... If I ever get to speak to Tim maybe he could shed some light on the car??

will post some more spec and pics soon!

As Rob has said a chassis number would give the year, as for colour, it could have had a colour change since new so Tim might not know anyway, have you looked under trim to see if its different colour wise :?: from the pics it looks like a gunmetal of some sort, Ford/VX, theres loads of variations but usually its from a major manufacturer but i could be wrong

Yes you are both correct there is a chassis number stamped in the front of the chassis and it has an SSC plate on the bulkhead with a number on it but without looking I have no idea...... anyway (for the inexperineced) what will that tell me other than the year of manufacture? :?

Hi nice car.

The chassis number will allow Tim or possible Rob to find out who it was origonaly sold to, this may or may not help in your search for the colour.
