What would be the best first ratio for close ratio T9, 2.38 or higher? i'm running a 4.1 diff at the moment, it will be cheaper to change the diff than box ratios in the future any opinions? i'm tempted by a helical kit but at £1200 i think i might put up with the noise of a straight cut kit

BGH Geartech have 2.66 or 2.75 for 1st. With your diff & Power you could probably run the 2.66.

I really wanted to go higher on first, both Tranx and Quaife do a 2.38 and a higher one again 2.16 maybe cant remember, i just wondered what everyone else has tried. i would like to hit nearly 60 in first maybe

I know the wife is keen for me to upgrade my gearbox after Llandow - but i dont think shes that keen. I'll have to stick with 2.66.

I would still stick with the cheaper box & get another car/bike with the saving

Really depends on your use . I run a 4.4 diff and 2.04 1st . On the 3.89 diff it made 65 mph
