On track 2008 ?

Today , I've contacted Dave , who organises MG's on track for the MG club . I've suggested that he considers a joint MG & Stylus day for around 50 cars . Hopefully we could muster 15 minimum but maybe more than 20 :?:
The MG's that I've seen on track are a mix of standard and modified MGF , MG ZR , TD , MGA and MGB with the odd V8 beastie. I went to one of their days with my son Stuart who has an MGF and they had an ex-F1 tester there to advise and tutor.(Andy Walsh -- very experienced)

If 50 cars were possible then some nice circuits could be hired 8) I'll let you know the outcome.

I've never been on the Anglesey track , probably cos it's 6 hrs away for me. Took me 5 hrs to get up to LOTON PARK with a refuel stop. Love to drive it but not sure how many of our guys will travel that far  If not perhaps a few of us who really want to try it could organise a B/B or camp weekend / week away :?: :?: and just join an existing track day like MOTORSPORTS EVENTS , they use it now. Other thing is --- mines not tax/insured etc which is why I hired Llandow as opposed to go on their day

Rob

I'd be up for it if its not silly £££££££,
Very close to Festival of speed though. good chance they'll be booked up for testing.
Could probably get an E-Type along too, to make up the numbers.

E-TYPE or COUGAR's good :D but forget the SUBARU    Does David read this forum

Well that would help , also some of our FURY/STRIKER/PHEONIX friends if this particular deal's not on then I'd organise an exclusive ' hire ' as I did for LLANDOW but we'd need 40 entries to get below 200 squid  Around 35 would just creep into that bracket but I'd be trying to get a deal for around £180

First things first ------------ it's the open pitlane day in June I'm chasing at the moment which wont be big car numbers  BUT a few interested people could have fun at a little more £ than the ' hire ' day for 40

Provisional checklist ?

As it's the weekend , I've obviously had no reply yet from Goodwood circuit. HOWEVER  I'll just list the interested parties so far for EXCLUSIVE HIRE X 40 cars , not necessarily the open pitlane 105db's day

DAVE NEWALL , ROB FARLEY , MATT DOWNES , BOB WILSON , ALEC MARTIN(StylusRT & Skyline) , PETER SMITH , BRIAN BEVIS , MIKE BURKE , STUART PARLEY , KEVIN PADLEY , DAVE HUGGETT , TIM BENBOW , DEAN ROKER(Fury) , JEFF WILTSHIRE(Pheonix) , DAVID RIX(E Type) , DEREK MOULE(Elise) , STUART BROOKE(M6) , MARTIN CRAIG(RS4) , JIM GIBLETT(Fury or Alpha ?) , ANDY HAMPSHIRE(Striker) , DAVE H. friend(Tiger) , ROD STYLES (ANGLIA) , DAVE PENN(Global. L) , JUST 12 Stylus's

24 so far  ---- need 40  where are you all :?:
I was rather assuming that all you guys who went to  Llandow  would go for this Goodwood day too  :?:

Email or PM me off this post(bottom left  ) then I'll add names to the list , rather than pile up the postings on here
GOODWOOD have only just got back to me , to say that charges are up from the last quote they gave me in August last year for TRACK HIRE :o but the main problem is that all dates in JUNE,JULY & AUGUST are booked  , leaving only APRIL (1,2,3,4,7,9,10,11th available) and OCTOBER 6th  ---- that's it  So looks like I can't do it chaps  Plus , as you can see from the above list , 40 cars haven't been forthcoming . Cost on these numbers and needing to book/deposit right now even for these dates --- well over £200 , close to £300
