Car back from body shop......

Well, after 9 months away I've got the main tub back from the body shop, bonnet, doors and bonnet coming next week. I'm really pleased with the finish, especially considering the back is now over 4 inches wider. Still needs some more polish to get the real metallic shine out though.....
spray job

What is it like for overspray
Hope your engine/chassis was properly sealed up before the spraying. The first time mine was done , everything was as clean as a whistle but after crash repairs to the F/Glass front end there was spray everywhere you looked. Couldn't get it off so had to paint over the powder coating ---- ugh

It was properly masked up - so no problems at all....

And here's the bonnet finally finished, you can see how many hours of work were put in to get the shape right, it's now got more bulges than Dolly Parton!
looking interesting

I'm starting to see the end result already now --- can just see it complete with polycarbonate light covers tinted
Have you got them

Oh yes, all ready to go on. But I'm finding the wheels rub the back of the light pods - I'm gonna have to space them forward..... which is a pain.

That's the problem with anything other than 14 x 6 wheels , standard for the classic . Before I fitted quads , I simply cut the back off the light pods(back level with electrical clips) , bent all electrical clips 90 degrees then sikaflexed a circle of rubber inner tube over the hole. That way as long as they only touched when turning the rubber would give way. If you lower the front as low as I now have mine though , it wont work

Here's a couple of pictures to show what we've done to create a channel right down the side of the body and put a lip on the flip fron to fit into it.
