For when I get round to fitting my new gearbox.
I was wondering if I should upgrade the clutch, thrust plate or whatever goes between the flywheel & gearbox, while Im at it.
Or do I just keep the standard. I understand apart from the force required to operate the clutch there may not be any point.
As a reminder its a 2l zetec with a dog box.
Cheers

Re: New clutch etc - advice
The standard cover(springs that hold the plate)will eventually give way with spirited use. A heavy duty cover will be stiffer but will last plus convey more power. If the engine's coming out anyway I'd definitely replace cover and plate. Organic will be fine as mine's lasted me 7 years competition with the AP heavy duty cover and still has plenty of meat on it. Just changed to ceramic and kept the cover as the engine got more grunt. You can have the plate for ' beer ' if you want itkevp wrote:For when I get round to fitting my new gearbox.
