Are SSC still operating?
Last time I read on here - which is going back 4 or more months the bloke running it was ill and business put on hold.
Looking at the Stoneligh flyer, I cannot see SSC on there - anyone know if they will be attending?

SSC has basically seized trading. The company might as well be gone now..

I'm sure the reason for ' no sale ' isn't down to no interest in SSC . I and others have offered interest and a price but not enough to interest Tim. From his point of view , if he retains ownership , he could pick it up and run with it if and when he chooses plus build himself an out and out racer at low cost when he's motivated to
His motivation to buy SSC in the first place was never quite the same as P.Powell . More that he wanted to continually improve it's dynamic ability then as PR , race regularly himself
Unfortunately his buy out coincided with falling kit sales plus more kit companies coming into the market
You need a lot of kit sales to support your racing though

I still hope that some company is able to take over the stylus. Otherwise if Tim ,doesn't start trading quickly again, then stylus replica's may be getting made

That was his problem though --- not enough orders just enquirys and advice/future interest which doesn't equal liquidity
Being in Llanidloes didn't help though --- BUCKS would be better

yep, valid point, though it is still a pain for those who really did want/need Stylus specific parts.

Hi all
With Tim not wanting to market the Stylus, Could we not buy spares direct? Tim didn't make the bodies and chassis, did he? Maybe they could supply direct under a licence and pay Tim a commission? Just worried if one of us has a bump

Tim's made his own chassis for some time . A move to improve quality plus quickly make any adjustments in design and cut costs. Bodies are made by the guy who builds the Davrian.
Regarding the idea --- great
BUT first you have to get Tims agreement . Don't hold your breath
If you can contact him , he has 3 chassis just not quite complete PLUS all the jigs of course.

I didn't realise he did the chassis, we'll just have to wait until either Tim tries again or comes to his senses and sells before the Stylus brand becomes worthless

OK guys
since talking to some of you yesterday re -- getting Stylus bodies , hood top rails , chassis etc , I decided to try again to contact Tim seeing as it's bank holiday and 8-00am so he may be at home
He was and we talked for some time regarding his situation and some of your needs , short and long term
He is prepared to supply bodies , hood rails , chassis with a longish lead time , perhaps 2 months for a body. He is now cash secure but will not revert to full time SSC as a business however some things as above can be supplied
You'll just need to try all contact routes --- mobile -- home line -- email . I've told him that I'll post this info on this forum ok .
Some enthusiasm is creeping back to him now as he's even considering building himself a dedicated race chassis/RT to kick ass on the circuit , perhaps next year at some point
ALL GOOD SIGNS
He certainly wont see anyone needing a body etc due to a crash or still building being left in the lurch

Hi Rob
This would be good for all looking for these parts do you have all the contact details to get him? If you pm them if you don't want to post on the forum that would be great.
Cheers George
