I have made my dash board and fitted the bits i think i need on it. I am using a small digi dash type unit which has indicator warning, main beal, fuel gauge, speedo, RPM, water temp and an ECU controller display which shows the various functions and readings of the ecu and engine sensors. Other than that, I have an ignition barrel and alternator warning lamp, just wondered what else i should have on the dash.
I have a fog light switch which will look a bit silly on its own so i am reluctant to mount that on dash. I am using all the sierra stalks so they incorporate hazards, light and indicators switches along with wipers.
Just looks a bit bare at the moment. I am waiting for a boost controller to arrive and may fit that in there.

Yes , just switch it from the handbrake ' off ' position with a tiny push button switch. I stuck it on with liquid metal.

I havent got to have it SVA'd, just MOT'd.
When you say switch it from the handbrake, what do you mean, i'm a novice when it comes to electrical.
I assume i need a resoivoir with a switch in the lid....... mmm, need one of those, any ideas

You can wire the two together and they use the same lamp

As we know there can be many many electrical connections to the dashboard that makes removal and replacement a pain - especially on Stylus where the windscreen does insist on getting in the way all the time!
Putting it all on a plug and socket would help but it tends to be difficult to find a suitable plug with enough connections at a sensible price
So how about this idea from your local Maplin: an ATX power connection extender for a PC motherboard:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/24-pin-atxbtx ... 015m-a21gf
The beauty is it has 24 connections and comes ready terminated with opposite sex connectors at each end
So cut it in half you have a ready plug and socket - and all for £3.99!
OK so there going to be quite a bit of soldering (I highly recommend heat shrink sleeving and use of a hot air gun for such things btw) but pretty neat I reckon. Even the wires themselves are nice and substantial
Just solder on to your trailing leads from such things as warning lights and rev counters etc on the car side and on the back of the dash on the other side and you can plug and play!

I built the dash on mine to rivnut off , front and top . Never had a problem getting to anything just with top removed and only needed the front off once , didn't take it right out though , just took the steering wheel off then laid the front on it's back . I left plenty of cable in case it had to come off ---- wiper motor etc.
