Kit Availability

Hi,

I'm new here and hoping to move into kit car ownership soon (currently I have a Mk2 Escort).

As I understand it you can no longer buy a Stylus kit. What is the availability of unfinished projects and part built kits like? Do they come up for sale often or am I going to be waiting for a long time?

I enjoy the building (almost) as much as the driving, so I'd rather not look for a finished car.

Thanks,
Alex

Your last reply was from Rob who really knows more about the Stylus than most!

I dont know if he would agree but ,having finished off a build last year for my brother we still have a car that needs sorting, and a fair bit more outlay .Cars like ours come up often ,and are perhaps on piston heads now,at a MUCH cheaper price than the sum of their parts .

It might be a good way to get the car you want ,in other words one to refit to your needs after trying it out .

I hasten to add ours is not for sale and this isnt a sales pitch _its just the way we now wish we had done it!Regards and best of luck Malcolm

if its a stylus you are looking for, keep your eyes open on piston heads and possibly ebay as they do seem to come around quite often as unfinished projects.

there are plenty of people on this site who not only have the knowledge but also the ability and willing to help you out so even though the kit isn't being sold from manufacturer at the moment it is still easy to get help with most aspects if not all!

my stylus has been finished a couple of years now and although having not used it as much as i'd like due to work commitments overseas, it always brings a smile to my face! :D
