Failed the MOT on...

If the thumb lift/twist bit on the fuel filler cap is lifted up, the cap is not sealing the filler neck. I have the "aero" type as supplied by PP in '98. You have to lift the flap to gain access to the lock then twist it to remove for filling. If somebody was to lift the thumb catch the tank will not be sealed altho the cap can not be removed!!! After all these years!

Interesting, mine passed on the 19th of this month with the same filler cap, you must of had an over enthusiastic tester

that must be Bo****ks surely. fuel tanks are vented to atmosphere anyway and as long as the cap doesn't come off what is the problem? did he give a reason? my cap has a hole in it to provide a vent for the tank.
