Going on Friday cos DP has a surgery appointment on the Saturday. Unfortunately Friday's £20 as opposed to £15 on Saturday . He'll be at mine for 8-30am then we'll go up in one car
Can you get Friday off , sneaky or otherwise

Had a really good day looking over some terrific cars and engineering solutions . Had a good long chat with HAWK brakes regarding a new compound I may try out

Plans for the 2010 season depend very much on what definitive answers I get from the MSA regarding where my car fits in their categories . It can't go in roadgoing anyway because it's no longer a case of simply tax and insuring it because I've modified things that would make the money spent a total waste , if reverting to a R-going spec. The category it slipped into over the passed 4 yrs was Sports Libre because there was always a clause in brackets , beside the category description which said ------------- plus any car not complying with any of the other categories/actually mentioning kit type or world rally cars . (NO LONGER THERE )
I never actually used all the mod's allowed to me in this category like -- slicks - wets - wings -- floor pan --- any power level BUT it was allowed in so game accomplished. I never expected to win either without these advantages , so was really pleased with the last 3 yrs results.
I can only see one possible category but have no conformation and that's LIMITED MODIFIED SPECIALIST PRODUCTION
but the issue of full rollcage is still not clear .
I'm in email contact with the MSA over clarity but have had no reply also our championship coordinater is asking on my behalf . Also I'm attending the SPEED FORUM on the 23rd March at Puttenham where there are 5 speakers , one being from the MSA so hopefully I'll get chapter and verse .
Failing that I'll miss a couple of sprints BUT GO TO OBSERVE SCRUTINEERING plus support Matt in his entry at Rushmoor
I intend testing at Goodwood ASAP when the new brake pads arrive , so will need bedding in PLUS myself after 6mths without track time
If I get the right answers then I'll be entering the BOGNOR REGIS SPRINT at Goodwood near the end of April
otherwise it's testing then trackdays

Ordered my new HAWK pads with the new compound DTC 30 which will work from 100 to 1200 degrees with , apparently , better modulation plus release feel
They'd better be bloody good at £75 plus vat and delivery
but I'll let you know what I think of them once they're bedded in which will take about 3 laps to go through the correct sequence .
For best performance on the BLACK compound ---- it took 8 gentle slow downs from a moderate speed BUT not to a halt THEN 8 much harder stops from high speed but not to a halt . All these with cooling mileage in between(about 500 yds)
Once the last braking stop's been done ------------ absolutely NO BRAKING at all so just slow to a halt off the throttle then handbrake stop . WAIT for 20 minutes minimum before driving or braking any further -- THAT'S IT DONE
Hopefully the DTC 30 will need a similar session but they'll come with instructions anyway
Anyone having tried BLACK but not agreed with me regarding their awesome ability have possibly not gone through this bedding in method

I wouldn't buy DTC30 if my BLACK were still servicable but I ran on HPS in 2009 as the BLACK were shot .
The black are still an awesome pad it's only control that tempt me to the DTC30's
