Final Rolling Road Session

Some of you may know from other threads that I have been building a Blacktop Zetec, for quite some time now!

Final output is a slightly disappointing 225bhp. I was hoping for 240+ I suppose it is the difference b/w DIY and having Dunnell or Raceline do it for you.

Troy at Northampton MS didn't say very nice things about my exhaust manifold. A westfield with an identical engine and similarly rubbish exhaust manifold made 235bhp.

However, the powder above 4000rpm was a real surprise. Wow! At the moment I can't see that that I need the extra 10bhp. 225 seems enough at the moment! But that won't last for long......who does good manifolds?

Zetec's like 28 to 32 inch primaries 4 into 1 with 1 7/8 ths diam external . The primaries MUST be equal length but within that range. Through pipe minimum 2.5 inch for that power and above. Dunnell says it will lift power 4 percent if the old system simply removes the smoke  Simpsons are good so I here but anyone can follow this formula provided they have manderal equipment . My manifold cost £600 6 years ago .
