About Time

Post by Pete&Matt »

Finally rolled the Stylus out of the garage after more than a year of being under cover! Engine has been rebuilt and finally back together with the gearbox, to put back in! All is back in its rightfull place now and some more progress can continue! Bit of an emotional day as everything was how Dad (Pete) had left it when he was last working on it.

Well done Matt. I had wondered when you might post again. It's the right thing to do IMHO.

Well done Matt , it must have been hard for you to start getting on with it and I'm sure emotions were high. Look forward to more in future posts

They do look good with the colour, as do the wheels!

Progress will be slow for a while now as we have another baby on the way due in 4 weeks time!

Will get there one day!

Hopefully, but the new baby will slow things down somewhat for a while. We will see!

Will just be nice to get the engine up and running really, very close now!

As planned the exhaust system is all back in now!

We did however miss somehow or forget the fact that the exhaust manifold to silencer pipe was fouling on the body work! Not wanting to cut the body again, especially after having all the paint work done, I had to end up modifying the manifold! So out came the disc cutter and the welder to adjust the angle at which the pipe traveled.

I cant say i'm all that happy with the manifold that was made for us, especially considering how much we paid for it! Lesson to be learnt me thinks! Anyway, all in and done now. Just the fueling to go next and the engine electrics and cooling and then it can run!
