13 inch wheels?

Post by Werner Van Loock »

Anyone running 13" wheels? Reason I ask is that I can get some nice wheels for nothing. They need work as current state is bad, but painting the inner black and polish/spray the outer side should give nice effect. Looks a lot like Tim's wheels.
They are 13"x6j ET13

Should be fine with 185s, same size as I used to run.

I think they are. '70s kitsch! Had some on my MkII Escort. Were popular with folks who couldn't afford minilites for their rally cars when there were only a dozen makes of alloy available. They had a reputation for being strong.

What a shame they're not 7'' or 8'' then you could lower the car by 10mm or so in one go , very useful handling wise. Problem being grip will be compromised for track use with the 185 , o.k. for road though.

The car will have a standard tune 1.8 zetec of 115hp, so I don't think I'll be racing it in this form. It's just that they're almost free, just wanted to know if they would fit.

Alley Cat Trivia

From the deep recesses of my warped mind, these might have been originally from a 1976 Mitsubishi Sapporo. The sneaky Japs were trying to ingratiate themselves back then. Look at Mitsy now!
