Ok, I've just picked up a set of 7x13 et23 wheels, I plan to fit them with 205 tyres. Have I made a mistake or will they be ok?

205's are fine on the 7's but wheelarch clearance regarding tyres not protruding behond the fibreglass depends on your car ET wise ---- I run ET20 on 7.5's but my front arches are cut out 35mm's then flared 50mm's to allow for the arch sloping into the body , the higher you make the cut. You could have dropped a plumb line down touching the centre arch with the wheel removed , that would have given you the hub to edge of plumbline(subtract 5mm's for tyre bulge) That tells you the offset needed.Shooter63 wrote:Ok, I've just picked up a set of 7x13 et23 wheels, I plan to fit them with 205 tyres. Since posting my initial question I have found that avon do 2 types of tyre in185/55-13 that will fit on a 7" rim and dmack do a 195/50-13 that will also fit I have an avon motor sports dealer just up the road from where I live so will give them a bell.
