My silencer is 26 inches and 6 inches diameter and it took 6 bags of long strand . Basically I prodded it in with a piece of half inch dowling (wood) but not too hard/tight or it will not allow the sound waves into it. First attempt was without steel wool around the pipe and apart from stinking the place out , it gave the best quietening result .(white smoke , even after switching off) Since repacking several times now I've used one thin cover of steel wool over the pipe first then the long strand , around 5 bags. This way avoids most of the smoke ! --- not so quiet though.
Sorry but it's not an exact art !!!
I just love the Stylus but she keeps swallowing £££ !
