Inaugeral JPSCC event
This event was sponsered by CKC Mag' at NORTHAMPTON MOTORSPORT's rolling road . We had a TENG TOOLS 20% discount card given to us along with their catalogue . CKC also gave us all lunch plus their latest magazine issue. Quite a good opportunity to network so pointed out that my antirolbar will fit any inboard rocker ' car ' with minor redesign of the bottom brackets for some.
One or two were interested to look and one expressed doubt as whether it did any good Adam Wilkins from CKC took photo's of us all plus the cars. The rollers didn't show that I had the power I believed . However , at Llandow it kept pace with Tim's RT 225bhp Duratec car and it weighs about 50kgs less than mine . Tim's 9 st and I'm 12.5 st on a good day plus Matt D. in the passenger seat.
It's difficult to know what to think with ''rollers'' but Tim could previously leave me on the straights when I had 205bhp flywheel/ 170bhp @wheels . I might ring TROY and have a little chat in case I'm misreading the readout sheet I'll tell you what it says once clarified

D Tweeks ?
I took it off in favour of DUNNELL's . Should have left it really as I get 10% discount from them but don't buy much from them now
No driving unfortunately , just the rollers session and I presume a write up at some point in CKC
They did come down to LLANDOW for us so thought I should support it plus it was the new club EVENT(JPSCC) On top of that , SSC doesn't get advertised these days so wanted to keep the '' marque '' exposed
Rob .

Well , I've decided not to phone Troy to tell him his rollers OR operator is not reading correctly . Before I had work done on my engine this year , it gave a genuine 170bhp at the wheels at 7000rpm. That was with a standard bottom end , standard valves/springs , fast road cams and light head work , using Weber 45's with 40 chokes .stylussprinter wrote:This event was sponsered by CKC Mag' at NORTHAMPTON MOTORSPORT's rolling road . Since then it's had totally lightened, balanced bottom end, extensive head work, big valves/competition springs, pocketed pistons, race cams and sequential throttle bodies with cold air box / ram pipe. This produced 237bhp on the dyno at Dunnell's . Dunnell then brought it back to 232bhp to give better mid range torque. SO --- I expected between 190 & 195 at the wheels. Troy's print out for my engine said 154bhp at the wheels and 186 at the flywheel
It's obviously not correct OR I'd never have kept pace with Tim's RT Duratec & me carrying a passenger nuff said

bhp
Then I'd rather trust the dyno the engine was run in on == Dunnells

Re: Inaugeral JPSCC event
That's interesting because when i got mine rolling roaded by Troy - it was also down on power according to the results - but then, Troy did make a school boy error when mapping my car anyway so I wont be going back there.....!stylussprinter wrote:Well , I've decided not to phone Troy to tell him his rollers OR operator is not reading correctly . SSC Sylus 2.0 Dunnell Black Top Zetec weber alpha / DTA + cams, 236@fly. (aka NORMA)
Re: Northamptom
I have found the RR report for my engine dynoed at Northampton motorsport and it shows my engine with 183.5 @ flywheel and 145 @ wheels, i tell you it didn't feel like it had that much so perhaps their rollers go either way +/- like i said before.

Re: Northamptom
H'mmm , well I prefer to believe Dunnell's engine dyno where my engine showed 237bhp which he then modified back to 231bhp to give better mid range torque. He actually sells this level ' kit ' as being his 225 bhp spec' .Cerberus wrote:I have found the RR report for my engine dynoed at Northampton motorsport and it shows my engine with 183.5 @ flywheel and 145 @ wheels, i tell you it didn't feel like it had that much so perhaps their rollers go either way +/- like i said before.
