Rushmore result

Post by stylussprinter »

Fortunately a very good and lucky day for me :!: Frances(my wife)was my pit crew and Matt D and Andy B were there in support. It was puddles everywhere to start with then dried out later . The '' brake sieze problem'' did not rear it's head although I did visit the grass and woodland scenery twice during the day  However , my last run was my best ever time at this venue(3 yrs since competing there) and was enough at 54.94 sec's to get me 1st :D in class E9(anything goes/slick wings /any bhp etc) Only 2 cars were quicker at 52.99 & 52.98 sec's making me 3rd fastest overall classes --- 76 entries. FTD was a 6R4 with 400bhp/slicks at the 52.98 sec's then behind him at 52.99 sec's was a Westy 5 litre TVR 400 bhp

Hopefully Matt D 's car will be ready for Abingdon in June

Congratulations Rob.

Nice one and probably a big relief the brake issue is solved then.

Wish I had some time for the car, but no chance.

First need parts worth over 800£, so no quick buy

Yes it was , being a 1 mile figure of eight , narrow , wet plus 1 foot high kerbs off the start line for 150 yds along with steep slope and anti-camber  Concentrates the mind though and terrific fun  Last time there when she was on carbs there was no problem keeping her straight on the straights BUT with the extra grunt it was correction constantly even when dry. A total contrast to Goodwood being 2.4 miles of flat out bends and time to think
Nearly all the sprint courses are that way , very much point and squirty

Just read the FDMC report on the Dimanche Sprint , where some ' kind ' editor describes me as '' the ever- young Robert Farley '' :D must be the smoothed out wrinkles and dark glasses

http://www.farnboroughdmc.org.uk scroll down to 'Report Dimanche Sprint 'on the left of the page.
You can join this club whether you compete or not . They're always wanting marshals which means a ring side view at no cost to loads of events other than sprinting

I'm sure thats Peel on the isle of man, me and a mate of mine did that and its f*****g dangerous the Karts aren't supercharged they are 250cc gearbox karts and they would wipe the floor with nearly everything on a track but the roads used in peel are so bumpy if you look at there feet you will get some idea.

Must try harder
