Front Uprights?

Post by kevp »

Can anyone inform me of the Front Uprights that Im running - 98 model.

I have got a set of hubs & bearings (ally) to fit Escorts 1 & 2, Mexico Rs, anglia, cortina ect but they dont fit mine. :( The bearings are to large for the stub axle.

I will check that Iv been sent the right part, but the discs & wheels fit the hubs so Im unsure where the mis-match is.

Cheers

Do you have a live rear axle or de dion or irs? If de Dion, then you have sierra front uprights. So escort not going to fit, if IRS, then it depends i think, think there's a mix between sierra and escort there. If live axle then it's escort. But then there's a difference between group4 mk2's and others. So might have group4 bearings.

I have a live axle and have an escort front end. I bought a nice shiney set of Grp 4 hubs after being told they would fit but they are bigger. you need rs2000 front end for them to fit. I tried to get bearings that would take the smaller escort stub upto the bigger grp 4 hub but couldnt get them.
Help! just starting out

I have got RS2000 uprights (off internet). They have just aririved & look nothing like the old ones. They have a speed sensor on each axle (ABS?), no stub axel, but the hub is splined (4wd?). The discs must be on the wheel side of the hub. :(

you can get alloy hubs for the std(smaller) mk1+2 escort and and the larger ally hubs for the RS's. Speak to BGH who now have the FURY. I bought my std alloy hubs from Mark Fisher.
