Zetec engine mounts

Hi all, sold my crossflow engine to release some funds, now fitting zetec. When I bought the kit from P.P. it came with engine mounts for the zetec and a trial fit in position shows that the engine would be about 30/40mm to low! is there some sort of rubber mount that should go between the engine mounts and chassis rail to give the correct hight and vibration damping? Also, on the nearside engine mount, the three holes that line up with the engine mount are not flush with each other and there is a large casting lump adding to the confusion? Am I missing some sort of adaptor or have I got the whole thing wrong??

there is the standard engine mount rubber that they all use i believe which is about 50mm thick. If you already have this, i believe you may have to use a shortend sump with the zetec anyhow. Im sure Rob will clear up the matter!

The nearside mount to the engine block should have been supplied with 3 different lengths of 13mm steel/galv'd pipe . SSC normally supplied them already cut so's to keep the triangular bolting plate away from the casting lump and at 90 degrees to the ground . Quite simple to do yourself though(fit them to clear the lump by 1 plus mm) . You could make them really tidily in billet alloy and drill them out but pipe has done the job on mine for 9 years ok :roll:
The chassis end mounting uses 40 to 50 mm thick rubber bonded steel/plates/bolts which get bolted through the triangular chassis plates placing the engine as far as possible to the bulkhead --- say 5 or 10 mm for best balance/handling. Don't remember the part number but think they are standard Cortina bits :?: I'll have a look for an invoice and post again :roll:
SUMP ----must be shortened/baffled or better still buy a professionally made sump like Raceline or Dunnell . Cut the bolts extra length off the Ford standard windage splash tray but keep the tray :wink:

Hello Pete C , sorry I've been so long coming back to you but I've been busy with my favourite hobby :evil: decorating :cry: Anyway here is a pic' of the rubber engine chassis mount and the label shows the part number clearly too ie. QH part as were most bits specified by SSC for Stylus's :wink:
