Well what do you know Brand new starter but you were right , a good thump with the copper head hammer , turned the key and away she purred Just goes to show that you can't assume anything , whether new or notPete&Matt wrote:Rob
Sometimes the solenoids on the starters can get sticky. give it a light "thump" with a soft mallet or wooden handle and try it again. usually does the trick when they stick!
It ran up to temp' and the fan came on in 20 min's / all air expelled at 90 plus , so all is working well with the smaller radiator --- in the shed anyway --- we'll have to see if it keeps at 92 degrees on track That's the optimum efficiency temp' for a zetec but no more . It ran under 92 before with the bigger rad' so hopefully this will be a better match for the engine. Sprints don't last long
