Re: Abingdon Motorsport Carnival
Well , bits and pieces duly delivered but my plan to spectate didn't quite come off . On the Bentley course startline where Matt was actually starting each competitor , the cars where just not coming up to the line in time so huge gaps , minutes in fact , were passing before another car appeared
Seeing as was daft enough to be right on the startline watching , I got volunteered to position cars up to the lazed beam using a very technical bit of kit ------- lump of 2x2 The idea being that the official startline Marshall could fly around chasing up ' chatting ' drivers to get their arse out of gear THEN come back to relieve me ----- never saw him again so was there till lunchtime
Had a good time watching in the afternoon though . A Phoenix I'd set up a few weeks ago was competing but had never been to Abingdon and didn't collect a podium BUT his times were very respectable at 49sec's on the Abingdon course and 52sec's on the Bentley course . I always found the latter to be the most difficult to do a competitive time and 52 is quick . My best Abingdon course time I seem to remember was 45sec's . You need to do these events every year to acheive a good time.
Matt's there again today helping with the rally which for him means he's had three days at it
