B&H MC Eagle Sprint Goodwood

Post by stylussprinter »

My third event in 2011 at Goodwood again is on the 6th of August . Just had the finals but it seems that my friend with the 284bhp Spaceframe Escort M1 isn't entered :o However two other cars are in my class that I've not competed against before.

Triumph TR7 V8 4500cc
GT40 Southern GT 5000cc

So a new challenge :P Likely to be slickshod too.
I just love the Stylus but she keeps swallowing £££ !

Just done a little research on these two guys . Glenn Mason in the GT40 has done 98 sec's at Goodwood last year and Hugh Maund in the V8 Triumph has done 96 sec's so I'll need to beat my own lap time in June to stay on top ---- 96.26sec's ain't gonna do it . I really need a 95 something to win :!: and that's not happened for a while

Rob - I'm now at RAF Odiham at 10am - hour or so doing final checks for the Sept sprint.
Should be with you around lunchtime - just keep it on the island until then

I'll be trying to do just that  Looking at the B&H MC website , it appears there are 3 more entries albeit a bit late after the printed ' finals ' .
The MAZDA RX7 5700cc from last time(exhaust cock-up) is double driven.
Then there's another MAZDA RX7 but with 6000cc .
So there's 5 cars with big V8 tuned engines plus me ----- h'mmm

Rob,

What garage number are you on Saturday. I was thinking of popping along.
Also what do you think would be a good time to be down there for, to get one of the scrutineers to have a quick glance over my my car and a noise test.
If im going to try this sprinting thing I'd better start sorting stuff out.

Do you think they would have a quick look and point out the failures?

Best bet is to contact B& H MC via their website , saying you intend competing at some point --- would they scrut' and noise test the car on Aug 6th ? Problem being that noise control is a direct responsibility of Goodwood circuit and done by them , with a charge lumped onto the club's invoice for hiring the circuit ---- you'll just have to ask , I can't say any better than that . Noise wise , Matt Downes is coming in the afternoon and may bring his sound meter of you ask VERY nicely

Thats exactly the problem I had this morning. On my way to Goodwood I met the scenery. The extent of the damage is rad, bonnet, offside top rocker, windscreen, off side rear rim, two headlights, one indicator and the metal work that hold the bonnet on. I might also need a new rack.

For some reason im not too motivated to look at it all just yet.

Hope your day was good Rob.
