Oh. , I'm so sorry to hear that Dave Whatever happenedpigeondave wrote:Thats exactly the problem I had this morning. On my way to Goodwood I met the scenery. The extent of the damage is rad, bonnet, offside top rocker, windscreen, off side rear rim, two headlights, one indicator and the metal work that hold the bonnet on. I might also need a new rack.stylussprinter wrote:

Re: B&H MC Eagle Sprint Goodwood
Matt,
Im ok and so was my friend who was travelling with me.
It happened on the way to Goodwood coming over the downs at South Harting. I had just turned onto the B2141 and was going up the wiggly bit at the beginning, as I came round a sweeping left the rear just kept coming round. We mounted the mud verge and were at such an angle that my GT fuel tank scrapped along the road and sprung a leak.
The car basically ran its nose through the bushes and trees. I thought we were going to roll as I was expecting the car to dig in the verge and go over.
I was a case of the road conditions changing as the trees over the road made it damper for longer. There was no tyre squeal it just started to come round and I was a passenger.
Any one know someone who's good with fibreglass?
Not too sure if these will work, but here you go

Re: B&H MC Eagle Sprint Goodwood
Well I just knew today would be tough and I wasn't wrong . However , if you ignore the super fast driver in the RX7 6lt who was first in class with a 91 odd sec's , I managed to beat all the others ony very last run with my best this year at Goodwood of 96.04sec's , almost a quarter of a second quicker thant lap in June . The closest to me was another RX7 5.7lt with a 96.12sec's Then the GT40 with a 97.5 or so sec's . The really quick TR7 v8 driver wasn't happy with the car today so his confidence stopped him getting a 96 which was his last time here.
On my last run I was running in 4th or 5th place so had to muster something from somewhere. Went flat in 4th through Madgewick into 5th then flat though Fordwater , saw the blue roof of the GT40 disappearing into St Mary's as I entered Noname . Got desperate to catch him so dropped into 4th or rather looked for it but couldn't select it so grabbed 3rd ( having been out of gear for 200yds) --- flat into the dip having grabbed 4th then dropped to 3rd for Lavant and floored it , then back into 4th after the apex then 5th all the way to the 150yd board . Dropped two gears and floored it through Woodcote and through the Chicane ----- two mistakes and messy but it did the trick BUT simply not enough to keep me on my 3yr perch of 1st in class at Goodwood
So it was 2nd today but under more pressure from more competitive cars/drivers.
I'll have a look at the B&HMC website next week to check all the times against my memory

Re: B&H MC Eagle Sprint Goodwood
Not too bad a result then Rob.
It must make it a lot more tense/exciting having more cars in the class.
Shows what a small world it is, I believe that the recovery driver knows your friend with the escort. He works for the same firm, so the driver said. The reason why he was not at Goodwood was due to engine problems and so he's having something done.

Oh no Dave, it's damned annoying when a toy gets damaged.
The body work doesn't look too bad. What worries me is the top rocker!
Also gives you the excuse to fit a heated windscreen

Re: B&H MC Eagle Sprint Goodwood
just to say I repaired similar sort of damage to the body work on mine. Apart from being smelly fibreglass is relatively easy to put straight. Painting is a bit of a drag tho.
Re: B&H MC Eagle Sprint Goodwood
Really sad to see the damage on your car Dave Hope you get it fixed soon.
I had a great day at Goodwood, winning my class and going faster than my previous best by 2 secs. 94.94 secs which I don't think is too bad for my 2nd event at Goodwood. This time is mainly due to Rob's setting up of my car.

A little more commitment from the driver and the Phoenix should be good for a 91sec run. It works out (on a 94.94sec lap) that I averaged 91MPH from a standing start ! Softer tyres and more power of next year
Rob

Re: B&H MC Eagle Sprint Goodwood
Thanks for that Jeff ------ the driver has to be able to take advantage of the chassis set-up though and you are doing just that In the interests of accuracy you were 1.21sec's quicker on Saturday than your lap in JUNE at TWMC Tonhire sprint At these sort of lap times for Goodwood even 0.5 sec improvement is hard to findjeffw wrote:Really sad to see the damage on your car Dave Hope you get it fixed soon.

Looks from the results sheet that we were JW 12th and RF 13th overall this time --- 9th and 10th in June but a much bigger entry on Saturday

Re: B&H MC Eagle Sprint Goodwood
I had no idea that two TR5 drivers were in sports libre but they're shown in my class on the results --- so 8 not 6 in class thenstylussprinter wrote:Well I just knew today would be tough and I wasn't wrong . Re: B&H MC Eagle Sprint Goodwood
There was a red TR5 which was moved class due to them fitting slicks to it. I guess it was double driven.
I've done a quick count and I make myself 9th overall and you 10th....unless I'm missing something.

Oh that's what it was . I remember you pointing that car out now before practice , they should have known you can't run slicks in roadgoing.jeffw wrote:There was a red TR5 which was moved class due to them fitting slicks to it. I guess it was double driven.

Overall ---- you're probably right Jeff , same as in June then --- it's just that Matt told me 12th and 13th on the day after reading the time sheets , at least we're consistant
