Hope you guys had fun without me
Yes , a very good day although not without it's cock-ups :!: We had very little time in the club stand area for general tire kicking etc due to the huge volume of cars wanting to do the hillclimb and the administration was a touch disorganised to say the very least --- there seemed to be no co-ordination between various marshals , clerk and paperwork ladies , briefings etc etc. On top of that I was told no helmets(clerk of course) and once he knew my car wasn't road going he said that's it get that car out of here --- it's not going up the hill period , even though I'd asked online regarding it's status . I'm in the damn car sweating running off my face cos it was scorching hot --- attempting to hold my temper but getting pretty bloody mad underneath
After a lot of '' no way etc etc etc '' and me telling him I'd been decieved by taking my money and me travelling 100 miles (I lied  ) -- club stand etc --- He gave in and said I could run with the guest cars/demo cars Well that was ok but there was still the question of my 14yrs old grand daughter going up the hill without helmet ------- I dug my heels in and he let her go with a helmet BUT NOT ME :?:
Stupid thing was ---- there were guys driving the demo cars , of which I was to be '' one '' who were helmet'd
Anyway I got my own back by the end of the day and 6 runs . On the first run I went into the kitty litter on the second really tight corner but backed out with no damage (learning curve  ) Then took several passengers up as well as my own two solo runs ---- after the 5th run with Matt D on board , I was asked by the '' clerk '' to notch it back a little (a complement I took this to be --- nah , a warning really  )
So I thought sod him , it's the 6th and last run plus Stuart's 2nd ride plus the meeting will end after this run.
Absolutely shot up there also hard out of the anticamber top right to the finish line , rear not out of control but nicely drifting as we went flat in 2nd gear -- great and my quickest run :P

Clerk said now't  but Stuart remarked it was great but buttock clenching

Not sure what photos anybody got yet :?: also took video on board for some runs , not the quickest one though , too much of a hurry to switch it on. After a week or so Stuart's going to help me get that done. Watch this space but send me pic's please anyone for the CKC Mag
I just love the Stylus but she keeps swallowing £££ !

Cracking weekend trip for me and the missus. Disorganised shamble the ticket selling was didn't detract too much from the enjoyment. Shame it was so hot as we would have liked to walk up the hill to watch near the "esses" but was too muggy to even attempt it.

And lucky we didn't as the tickets for the Afternoon run that were to go on sale at 11am (we were told this numerous times and over the tannoy) managed to sell out by 10:50 with us getting ours at 10:20......some very well p!ssed off people suprised they were sold out before they were even meant to be on sale....

So we had 3 runs up in the afternoon. Not very fast but I did have a 3 hour drive home the day after so thought i'd be better going home in one piece than with 3 wheels.

Here's a wobbly camera phone video, from a not too great position (I didn't plan to video it from there)

According to the vid I did it in 58 secs, just a tad off the record. :) Could have gone a lot faster had I had more runs but not bad for my first Hill Climb fun.

Here's my collection of pictures from the day:

If you want any originals or full size ones emailing drop me a pm with the pic number and I'll send them

Good to put names to faces. Thanks to Rob for organising :)

A great day with none of the forecast showers, found all my previous cars in the retro parking like walking back through time......minivan,skoda estelle(yes i know!!),opel manta, mini cooper and 205GTI when going for a wander before walking up the hill.Viewing was very good probably one of the better hillclimbs from a spectator point of view.

Highlight of the day was the previously mentioned last run up the hill-shame we didnt have the video running for that one although the comments at the finish may have had to be deleted!!!

I'm dead jealous not being able to get down, looks like it was a fantastic day and the Stylus's were looking good.

It was --- I actually touched the tyre wall in front of that armco but there's not a scratch on the paint --- that's what that horrible stuff is good at , it's so deep and lightweight that it just sucks you in
That was my first run and I was in 2nd almost flat about 3 car lengths before the bend , lifted then turned in but too fast and too far across the corner's centre . All my other runs were taken in 1st at that 3 car lengths back then turned approximately dead centre corner.
If you don't push it you don't know where the edge is --- that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it
2nd flat in my car is 83mph and 1st 61mph . I only used 3rd the first run around ORCHARD , the bend next to the CROSSOVER . After that run I used either 1st or 2nd everywhere else which finally got me a 54 sec's run ---- way behind the class time there fore my car (Sports Libre)

Good pic's though 8)

What is the record there for Sports Libre? I thought my 58 secs would be quite slow but seems I was a bit quicker than I thought, especially as i was not going all out as I had to drive it home.

61 in 1st?! what rev limit do you have and what's the diff ratio?

In the dip between the cross over and Pardon hairpin I was hitting the rev limiter in second and had to shift to 3rd. Cruising at 70 the engine is on about 3500rpm which makes motorways a pretty tedious experience.
