Off with Stuart to watch touring cars at Silverstone tomorrow , particularly PLATO in the MG , as Stu has an MG Trophy . Should get right into the centre area and get welcome and coffee via the MG club stand :P .
I just love the Stylus but she keeps swallowing £££ !

Plato is just amazing to watch live as opposed to on the TV . He won the first race with others right up his boot . Second race , he had weight piled on his car but until the last couple of laps was well in front THEN the engine died on him or so it looked . That mean't an engine change from 2-30pm up to 5-17pm ready for the final race :o Amazing what the right guys can do in a couple of hours :!:
He started 19th on the grid due to the DNF but without any weight penalties now . Watching him find his way through those 18 cars in front of him was a real lesson on race driving technique to all the other drivers and us spectating  and without touching any other car on his way ---------- brilliant for MG , a Chinese car but still an English badge , designed , built and run by English engineers :D

Still a "bit of a knob" though... but then that is BTCC for you.

Not sure what '' knob '' means but I'm only interested in his driving ability --- if you mean the shunting around between certain drivers at the last meeting ---- he got shunted from behind by '' a driver '' always complaing about driving standards . In my book , Plato replied in kind --- exactly as I would have done. If you can't take it , don't dish it out

Perhaps we're talking about different things though :?:

This is everything that is wrong about BTCC - these guys get alot of media coverage, and should be setting an example, yet the driving standards are often abysmal. Jason Potato is even a BRDC driving standards mentor to young drivers (or some such), which is frankly comedic - yes he is clearly a capable driver, but alot of the attitudes in BTCC stink. "Rubbing is racing" ? Erm, no, no it really isn't.

The Porsche support series is, on the whole, much better, since the driving standards there put the BTCC to shame.

Yes , certainly have to agree regarding purposely pushing/rubbing the opposition . Suppose I was ignoring that , since it's happened for ever right back to Read's time and others and was more or less accepted as part of '' touring '' cars
The only way it'll stop is by punishing drivers with total loss of points for that race BUT I wouldn't want to be the steward who decides which was accidental (braking error etc) and which was totally aggressive
Take your point though :)
