This may be of interest to some of you who've fitted one of my ARB's. I have used a piece of 5/8ths rubber hose , split length wise with a knife -- then slipped it over the ARB both ends between the levers and the poly clamps --- cable tied it in 3 places . This prevents the ARB floating left or right and is VERY cheap . There's now a much nicer solution which was pointed out to me by Alex , who's actually fitted some beautifully made clamps which come in two pieces and are then bolted together with little socket heads . They can be bought from RS components in steel or ally . You may wonder why I've not updated the ARB kit to include them --- well basically I didn't want to make the kit more expensive , as some people will still prefer my cheap '' bodge '' method . They vary in price but if one pair are ordered plus vat and post , packing you won't get change from £20 or £25 . However they do look very professional . The cheapest one's I've found to date are zinc steel 16mm bore , just right for the ARB , priced at £5-13p each plus the vat etc etc . The company is called Bearing Boys Ltd . On the website they are listed as shaft collars double split 16mm (in two halves) Have a browse on their website or for ally it'll be RS Components . Didn't want to make my kits including post etc £212 !!!

Ok just to tell you how good the ARB kit is, I raced the car the weekend followinga 18 month lay off due to me having bypass surgury. Car has been extensivly rebuilt in this time, and is now running a 350 BHP SR20, and is on 17x9 slicks with 6 pot brembo's on the front and two pot on the rear.
The ARB is fitted with steel bushes, not the green ones Rob supplies, and is located by steel collers at both ends to stop the bar moving across the body width.
6 laps into the race the car started to move in the high speed bends and I thought the new tyres had gone off, (which was upseting me as they had cost a fortune) but when the race ended, we found the bolts holding the ARB down had sheared, so in went new even bigger bolts.
The result of running without the ARB was 3 secs a lap off the lap time around Sepang, obvioulsy with the brakes and tyres i'm running, I am generating much bigger forces than Rob designed the bar for and the problems I am having with location are due to this, (and hopefully are solved now as no problems in race 2), but the ARB is the cheapest 3 sec a lap improvement I've made on my car.
Car was first in class and the only thing to beat it were a 750 BHP TVR (Ford V8M5000) and a 750 BHP Mustang, so third in the whole field, infront of the 911's, got to stand on the top step of the podium to collect the prize for first in class.

WOW
that's fantastic news although I'm not surprised the poly clamps couldn't stand the torque. Also my SS bolts can't take that much torque either . I'd probably use 8mm steel 8.8 's as the SS are around 80% of steel strength . Those 17 wheels plus slicks must give awesome grip
Sorry to here you needed the bypass but very glad it was successful . The 3rd overall and 1st in class is a stunning result after you op' Kelvin -- well done , brilliant
Amazing result for the ARB using those tapped ally links too
