Roll Bar Steel Thickness

Post by CMA »

Does anyone know how thick the wall of the roll bar tube is? 2mm or 3mm or other?

Cheers

I don't have the answer, but I do have a roll bar I'll not be re-using if it is any use to you...?

I have the minimum permitted fia spec diam and gauge so will search my blue book tomorrow and let you know. What I can say is that the ssc standard bar is weigh too low and too thick :!:
I just love the Stylus but she keeps swallowing £££ !

I'm just after the standard thickness of the stock SSC rollbar as I want to practice some welding on a similar piece of tube.

Dave, if I screw up my welding then I might be in the market for a replacement! until then I should be ok, thanks :)

Ah , ok . I think the old original supplied bar was 3mm thick and definitely 50mm's diam. I then moved to a 45mm's diam and 2mm's thick CDS tube , mainly because the original was massively heavy and below my helmet by miles.
