Number plates

Post by stylussprinter »

Does anyone know for certain whether you can run number plates on an HISTORIC car (1973 reg) that are not WHITE front YELLOW rear :?: At the moment it has black plates with either silver or dirty white numbering.
I just love the Stylus but she keeps swallowing £££ !

Hi Rob, according to the DVLA all number plates on vehicles registered from 1st Jan 1973 should be of reflective material. They were an option from 1968. Hope this helps.

Thanks Stuart , the AROC guys are telling me that police don't normally bother with us older chaps cruising gently along in historics , even though the plates aren't correct . They chase the '' max power '' boys with a whole band in the boot and silly plates.
I won't be roaring around like a teenager when roading it , it'll get it's excersize on track :P
