New Springs

Post by drhunter »

Woo,
£120 and a few hours later I have new springs all around :D

Did the first on Friday night to judge whether I'd have any further problems (and give me time to ask here ;) )

Swapped the rest on Saturday morning with only one small problem.
One of the springs just wouldn't accept the coil compressor clamp so I had to tighten it a little then persuade it with a hammer.

So, I now have 3 good dampers and one slightly bashed one but it still works.

What a difference it's made to the handling. The ride's far less bumpy, the wheels don't spin as much when pulling away quickly and the car sits lower.
I've set the front spring platforms to the very bottom and the rears about 1cm higher but I'm not going to set it up fully until I get new tyres.
