body parts

Post by stylussprinter »

I've been in touch with Tim and he's going to supply me with a half body to repair my '' mess '' :D
I haven't mentioned this to him yet but ------ if any of you think you may need body or ' parts of ' during 2009 , it might be a good idea to list them to me via this forum or PM ----THEN perhaps when he's trying to get Tim Duffy(Darion cars) to supply from Tim's/ssc moulds , a bulk order could be arranged :?: :?: :?:
I do know that Tim has a problem getting things to happen from Duffy even when SSC was busy so just the one order might help.

Don't be too long thinking about it though or you'll miss this boat

Just thought this may be a chance to help some of you
I just love the Stylus but she keeps swallowing £££ !

Can't tell you prices , just wanted to get hold of them . He has no idea what Duffy will charge yet after all this time  If I'd asked for definite prices then it would have slowed up the process . Him phoning , probably over several days before getting a reply then waiting for a cost then maybe ordering :?: :?: :?: too many variables so just took the chance and said order them please :) You have to bare in mind that Tim is busy with his other/main earner business to spend too much time on the phone so is doing me a favour
I do what I can :|

Assuming I don't need a second mortgauge to pay for it I'll have a hood rail.

Cheers

I'd be happy to get hold of a new bonnet for my classic. The fibreglass on the one I have has sunk around the streangthening revealing a cross shape. Not major I know but I'd prefer a new one.

Hi Rob I'm the owner of the blue stylus from abingdon. I had a good day and I'm sure I'll be doing a few more next year. I'm sorry to hear about your car, but I'm sure you'll rebuild it even better.

I've tried to attach a photo of my car from when I went to the le mans classic in July to remind everyone that sometimes there is good weather.

Hello Nick ,
Good to see that you're on this forum now with Andy Hill's Slark 1.8lt zetec engined Stylus (just for everybody else's info  )
I have a spare bonnet , unfettled but with F/Glass hinge mounts fitted if you really do want one . I wont need a spare now because my new light weight flip front will have a light weight bonnet to go with it --- leaving me with my original RED bonnet as a spare

Yours for £50 if it helps :?:

I've made my own mould for a classic bonnet. It's not as good as Pete's original mould (obviously!), but it allowed me to produce another bonnet which I could cut a hole in to fit my hilborn scoop, without destroying the old one! Useful in an emergency I suppose?

Tony , the hood rail is shaped to perfectly fit the top of the windscreen surround . When you build the car you need to f/glass two steel plates about 50mm x 35mm into the filling of the hollow surround , approximately 900mm apart . Then you glass bolts or something more snazzy into the ' hood rail ' which can be fixed through holes drilled through the f/glass & steel plates in the windscreen surround . Once you've sorted that , a hood can be made and glued onto that rail which when removed is folded up with the hood . SSC used to supply 13mm round tube hoops x (2) to stretch the hood plus a couple of alloy triangular plates to bolt into the f/glass just behind the door shut area. These then were hinges for the hoops . Simple enough to make yourself though.
With Tim not operating the company now --- once you have the hood rail then somebody like Jill Judd of softopsforsevens would make you a hood

Hi Rob, I'll have the bonnet for £50 if thats still ok. I'm not sure where you are exactly in the country, but It can't be too far if we both went to Abingdon. I'm in Newbury.
