Lower ball joint part number

Post by se7ensport »

Evening

Needed to switch out the N/S lower ball joint and ordered a Quinton Hazell QR1774RHT as listed on the main website, attempting to fit it I discovered the part I had been supplied has a left hand thread!

I know that the Sherpa does have a left hand thread and a right hand thread version and had assumed that the suffix of RHT in the part number identified the thread, on the box under the part number it states "Tie Rod End -LH" is this correct and I have been supplied with the right box but with the wrong part in it or is it the same part number but with wording "Tie Rod End - RH" (or similar) that I need?

Thanks
Alex

as far as I know, QR1774RHT is a right hand thread, sounds like the wrong part in the right box!?

As a slight aside, QH went into administration a short while ago. The IP (only) was bought by Tetrosyl.

well, I might have some spare ones lying around as I have a rose joint setup ready to fit now.
I can have a look if you like.

Alex, thanks for the kind offer, I'm expecting to be able to sort an exchange tomorrow with the local motor factor, I wanted to check where the error lay.

I was under the impression that that part was from the SHERPA track rod end NOT the tie rod :?

I've been supplied with part number QR1774LHT in a QR1774RHT box.
